  • “Network-based analysis of large scale genomic data: unsupervised and supervised approaches” by Professor Seungchan Kim, Head of the Biocomputing Unit at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), Phoenix, AZ 85004, USA on January 27 (Wednesday), 2016. 

  • “Towards High-efficient Resilient Co-design of Networking and Distributed Control for Unmanned Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)” by Professor Hao Xu, Director of Unmanned Systems Laboratory (USL) in the School of Engineering and Computing Science at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi on October 12 (Monday), 2015.

The first edition of Mission-Critical Big Data Analytics workshop (MCBDA 2016) took place on May 16-17, 2016 at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), Prairie View, TX, USA. Prairie View A&M University is a member of the Texas A&M University System and an HBCU located near Houston, Texas.


MCBDA 2016 contained 3 Keynote speeches, 2 Tutorials, 5 Invited Talks and 7 Technical Paper presentations. There was also a student poster competition and certificate and prizes were awarded to students who won 1st (Awarder with the prize money of $300), 2nd (Awarder with the prize money of $200), and two 3rd prizes (Awarder with the prize money of $100).

Tutorial Workshop: High Performance Computing with Applications in Big Data
Center of Excellence in Research and Education in Big Military Data Intelligence (CREDIT Center) at Prairie View A&M University

A “High Performance Computing with Applications in Big Data” workshop was offered at Prairie View A&M University on June 9-10, 2015. This two-day workshop covered the fundamental knowledge in high performance computing and big data such as MPI and visualization tools in four 2-hour tutorial sessions on Day 1, and it covered several cutting edge research topics by four invited renowned speakers on Day 2.
